With every years new title of the infamous game known as Call of Duty, this years title was believed to be the savior for the community. Leading up to the release of the game on November 3rd 2017 standards where held high for content creators, pro players and even casual players. The community had been extremely excited for this title in particular because we where going back to the classic boot on the ground that all the old timers enjoyed. But one question we have was does this game really stand out compared to the past years of futuristic games starting with advanced warfare. With any title that releases you have mixed reviews some being extremely good and some well just really bad. We set out to get the players review of what they thought of the game as well as giving a competitive mindset. With reaching out to the CEO of DoZe esports which also has played Call of Duty WWII on a competitive level we did a player interview with him and here is what we got. The first and big question that makes a game is the maps, they can either ruin or make it the best title to ever be created. Based on the maps in competitive play he thought they are “wonderful, I think there needs to be more maps to add more varieties but the strategies that go into it already are awesome.” Our next question was based around whether or not this title would save the Cod community because within recent years there has been a decline in players, and here is what we got for if WWII saved the community “Yes by far, NOLA was completely sold out with the biggest open bracket in history, with teams making huge plays and history making open bracket runs”. After we went on to ask about whether or not this title was better than others in the past, and here is what we got “Nothing will ever measure to black ops 2 in terms of game play and balance, however production wise and showmanship WWII has been absolutely fantastic”. Based on just this interview and the reviews on multiple sites WWII has definitely held expectations and seems to be getting better and better. One thing we hear a lot about is the fact that micro-transactions ruin the game making it “pay to win”. Although the community is biased about that one matter that seems to be getting bigger within Cod and all other video games today, we can conclude that this years Call of Duty title is definitely a successful one.
